Your rides. Your prices. Your terms.
Drive for riders who already know you. Set your own rates. No algorithms, no penalties, no strangers.
Set your own prices
You decide what to charge. No platform-controlled pricing. No surge manipulation. The price you set is the price you earn. SaneRate committed.
No penalties for declining
Accept rides that work for you. Decline rides that don't. We never penalize you or hurt your standing for saying no.
Drive for people you know
Riders share rides with you directly. You drive people who trust you, not random strangers assigned by an algorithm.
Keep your independence
Bring your own clients. Leave the platform freely. You're an independent provider, not a managed employee.
How driving works
Get ride requests
Riders who know you share their ride requests with you. You see where they need to go and when.
Set your price
Respond with your availability and what you'll charge. There's no suggested price or algorithm deciding for you.
Accept and drive
Once the rider confirms, the ride is yours. Show up, complete the ride, and mark it done.
Get paid directly
Collect payment directly from your rider using the method you agreed on, whether cash, Venmo, PayPal, or whatever works for you.
What you need
Valid driver's license
Your own vehicle
Commercial or specialty auto insurance
Riders who want to work with you
We verify identity and insurance, but we don't manage you like a fleet. You're an independent provider.
Real Independence, Not "Independent Contractor" Theater
Traditional ride-hailing platforms call drivers "independent contractors" while controlling pricing, penalizing declined rides, and taking 25-40% of every fare. That's not independence; it's gig work dressed up in entrepreneurship language. We're building something different: a model where drivers set their own prices, keep what they earn, and own their client relationships.
What we don't do
We don't require you to accept rides
We don't penalize you for declining
We don't rank you with performance scores
We don't control your pricing
We don't match you with random riders
You control who can request rides
Unlike ride-hailing apps where you must accept any rider, Private Rides lets you set security requirements. Only riders who meet your standards can send you ride requests.
You can also create custom requirements combining any verification criteria.
Massachusetts Compliance
While Private Rides is a coordination platform (not a TNC), we recommend drivers complete Massachusetts compliance verifications for professional service and to build trust with riders.
Verified drivers display compliance badges that riders can see.
About Insurance
Drivers carry their own commercial or appropriate specialty auto insurance. We carry general liability and may carry contingent coverage, but we do not insure the ride itself. The transportation is provided by you, not the platform.
